I really wasn’t sure what to expect from the night.  I got there at 6pm as requested by the Chance so we can set up our equipment only to find out that Lynch Mob hasn’t even shown up yet.  My first reaction was that they cancelled last minute and it was up to the three local acts to cover the night.  You see, when you’re a rockstar from the good ole days and are still making the rounds, you still think its nineteen 80 something.  TRANSLATION:  They have a lot of gear to set up which takes a few hours.  Oh well, if they cancelled its not my problem.  We are there to do our job and our job we will do.  First band goes on at 8pm and the tour bus showed up at 7pm.  This is going to be interesting.

After a mad dash to get their gear into the venue (which I sat their and watched);  HEY! Don’t judge me.  Where was George Lynch’s people when I was lugging my gear?  YEAH, THOUGHT SO!   The first band (from Albany) goes on at 8 as scheduled.  With Lynch’s people setting up behind them as they played.  Very funny in an unprofessional kind of way.

The second band hits the stage.  They are called Mid Life Crisis.  Normally I don’t remember band names of people I don’t know.  But this was a cover band that played music from when I was a wee-lad.  I’m talking about Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, Fastway.  Now THAT is some kick ass music.  And I have to say, the singer has got quite a range on him.  I will go see them again if I get a chance.  Or even better, share the stage with them in the future.

It was time for us to go on and it was really cold in there. Thankfully we are a band that doesn’t stand still.  So I was pretty confidant that the movement was going to warm us up.  The show went well as we had hoped.  But the best part of it was looking at Brian in his lime green suit.  It was so much in left field that it is cool.

I didn’t stick around for Lynch Mob, so I will just leave it at they were awesome.  I’ve seen (and opened) for them before and last time they kicked ass.  So I why would I think it would be any different this time.

Don’t have anything lined up for the Chance anytime soon.  But we are in Kingston at the Basement on the 19th and The Room in CT on March 4th.

until next time…..
