Best of HV 2009



So as you already know, Freakswitch was voted Hudson Valleys Best of 2009 Adult Rock Band Debut.  Last night at the Poughkeepsie Grand was the swar-ay to showcase all the winners.

So here we are walking the red carpet. At least I think it was red carpet in the lobby.  Flash bulbs were popping off like crazy.  Guys were jealous because girls were lifting shirts.  All the mommys wanted us to kiss thier babies.  It was complete mayhem.  Of course all I just wrote was complete crap, but it sounded good in my head.

No joke though, the Pok Grand was packed.  Every room in the joint had vendors from wall to wall (and in the middle).  There were so many people at this event, you could barely walk.  IT WAS GREAT!

We had quite a few people stop by and talk to us and ask us question like
“When are you going on stage to play?”
“Can we take your picture?”
“Are the cd’s free?”
“Will you sign my boobs?”

I’m not lying.  Brian asked me to sign his boobs.  Don’t tell him but I think he’s got the hots for me.  I’M SUCH A HEART BREAKER!

We had 3 computers running showcasing the band in every way possible. (video, pics, website).  It was unbelievable how many people were interested in learning more about us.  Not to mention our mailing list just expanded tremendously.

I have to admit.  I wasn’t all warm and fuzzy about the whole idea (I didn’t even know we were nominated).  But I am here to say that I was wrong.  This opportunity turned out to be an excellent way to interact with people and hopefully get more fans.  Not to mention, there was tons of food and beverages and good music. 

Now I don’t know how we even got entered in this whole thing, but I’m going again next year.  Even if its just as a guest.
