Good night Brooklyn……



 FINALLY! We played Brooklyn and now we get to sleep.

We knew on the way to this show that there was a good possibility that this show would suck.  One, it was a Monday.  Two, it was raining pretty damn well.  Three, I don’t know anyone even close to Brooklyn that would come see us.

So after spending an hour and a half in a mini van (HEY! Don’t knock it….. chicks dig it) we get to the Trash Bar.  This place is known now as the NEW CBGB’s.  Well let me say………uh, forget it, I got nothing.  So we go inside to see where to put our gear, ordered a beer ($3 PBR’s) and looked for a seat.  Considering not a sole was in the place, finding one wasn’t too bad.  As we look we notice that outside of the bar stools, EVERY chair in the places was a seat that came out of mini vans.  So Brian being the quick witted person he is (or he’s a dumbass, dunno – jury still out on that one) says: We just drove two hours in a mini van to sit on seats out of mini vans.  It was funnier when he said it OR the Pabst’s were kicking in……. you make the call.  As you look around, this place was an organized mess.  I think that’s what made it cool to me.  There was graffiti and stickers from previous bands on the wall, it was dark and it didn’t smell.

So 8 o’clock rolls and the first band goes on.  Wasn’t my cup of tea but let me say that sound was incredible.  The guy running the board knew his job very well. 

The next band goes on and this guitarist is a guitar virtuoso.  Outstanding is an understatement.  I prefer my songs to have lyrics in but this guy was like a cross between Steve Vai and Dream Theater (without vocals)….phenomenal.

10 pm, do you know where your children are?  Well for Freakswitchs parents, their baby boys were taking the stage.  We have to cherish this moment.  We’re in Brooklyn.  One step closer to where ever the hell we’re ending up.  SOAK IT IN!!!!!!!   Ok, I know you want to live this to so I will paint the picture for you.

1 – chick with tattoos all over
2 – members from the band before us
and ONE ISAAC MOORE!

Isaac is a friend of Brian’s that has seen us before and is really good peeps.

To show you what a great guy Isaac is.  In between songs, he fights his way through the crowd of people (that’s a joke people) and starts “BOO-ING” Brian. It was pretty damn funny. All in all, musically, it was a pretty damn good show.  We’ve got a recording to prove it.

   All of that sounds great except for the Isaac Moore part. I’m sure his retort will be something like “ISAAC RULES”, but I assure you, he does. HA!

   Congrats on the BK gig, big crowd or not.
