Lockwoods jam

So Friday night at Lockwoods was set up to be a perfect disaster.   It looked like the rain gave everyone a reason to not go out that night.  But no sooner I come out of the bathroom and this place is packed.  Ahh yes, good times about to take place.

I finally got to meet Rich Skaretka.  Rich is Scrath’s brother who not only lives in Vegas, but he is the man who built and maintains supervision over this web site.  Helluva nice guy.  Funny thing is, Rich brought more people to this show to see him, than we did to see us.

I don’t know if it was the rain or what, but there was a funky aura on the stage that night.  Not a bad or good one, just a funky one.  I know it I made my share of “happy accidents” that night and just wasn’t feeling it.  But thats ok, not everyday can be roses.  But I still had a good time nonetheless.

So instead of allowing Downfire to get on a possesed stage, we felt that we had to exorsise the demons first.  Sounds easy right.   Oh no no no no……..  The rock gods have to put in a happy place before they will leave.  And what better way to make the gods happy then with …………..

Freakswitch & Downfire

Freakswitch & Downfire

A WET T-SHIRT CONTEST!!!!!!!!!

So two ladies were willing to sacrifice their dry bodies in order to apeeze the rock gods.  And after 12 pitchers of ice water and all the cat calls.  The gods must’ve left.  Because the Downfire took the stage and kicked ass.

While Downfire was playing, our moments turned from drinking our beverages into a photo shoot.  I was asked to join the band for a group shot and I look to my left, there’s Rob Afuso (original drummer from Skid Row – but you already knew that) in the shot.  Well ain’t this the cats ass, I’m in a pic with rock royalty.  I got to talking with him and he is just flat out cool as hell.

It didn’t stop there, the camera just wouldn’t stop flashing.  Two ladies hopped in the shot.  I think they were called the “Sin Sisters”.  I can’t remember, I still wet boobs on my brain.

Next we’re taking a pic with Tigman from 101.5 WPDH!  I spoke to him for a bit as well and I’ll be damned if he wasn’t cool as hell either.  I love it when local celebs don’t have an ego.

Shortly after that, I left to go home.  I had to get my beauty rest.  The next day was Scratch’s annual Halloween party.  I’ll blog about that tomorrow.  Once I get all the puke out of my scrubs.

Until next time…
MK
