It is time to rumble

And in this corner, with a total combined weight of 752 lbs. The creators of their own destiny, the masters of disasters, the kings of mayhem, the one, the only, FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAKSWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH!

Their opponents: Who ever wants to play?

Now this isn’t a battle like Chris Brown vs. Rhianna.  Or Rodney King vs. LAPD.  This is an event where musical acts congregate in one designated area and perform their songs to a group of people called “judges”.  And at the end, the judges tally up the scores/votes and choose a winner.  And the winner gets bragging rights which in reality don’t mean squat. 

In all honesty I could care less about a “Battle of the Bands“.  I have been in my share of them (yes I’ve won a few before). I never entered a battle with the intention of winning.  But when you’re in an original project, you have to take what you can get sometimes when it comes to playing. 

This time isn’t any different either.   Mike, Mike, Brian and I are not “in it to win it“.  We agreed to play tonight because we love playing our music.  And this is another opportunity for us to have people listen to what we have to offer and maybe pick up a fan/friend or 12.  Not to mention maybe, just maybe turn some heads which will open a door to play again.

The definition of “battle of the bands” would be different if every band that entered would check ego’s at the door and just enjoyed the comradery of musicians getting together to showcase their stuff and support the other acts there.  But no.  There are always a couple of bands that have their heads up their ass and they think they are the cat’s ass.  These are the bands that bad mouth other bands and the hard work they put into their music.  It’s a shame.  I don’t expect this battle to be any different.

But nonetheless.  Freakswitch is playing tonight.  Giving it everything they have.  Taking on all comers and going to enjoy the moment as we always do.  Plus playing outside when it’s raining RULES!!!!!!
